Artist's Statement

Light and shadows shape my views and my art. Color serves to embellish these views. Intrigued by the natural lay of items, I create images which, through imaginary portals, may appear real or not, but pieces of them generate slices that may or may not be recognizable as the whole glimpse. Coupling my lifelong practice of photography with more recently acquired techniques in printmaking, watercolor and encaustic painting allows for broader expression of what I see and feel.

Additionally, nature plays a dramatic role in influencing my photography, often leading to more representational images.

Often incorporating historical or current references, critical analysis can be applied, but it is up to the viewer to complete this rendition.
